What is Looshie?

Looshie seems to be a spinoff of the at-home, teeth aligners concept. In case you aren’t aware, invisible aligners are a discreet way to straighten your teeth with clear or transparent, removable aligners. They are extremely popular, and in fact, the market is expected to reach $8.2 billion by 2026.

Looshie is a silicone teeth alignment kit that offers an alternative to braces when it comes to straightening your teeth. The Looshie website claims that your teeth will be straighter in just four months of treatment, without having to make a single trip to the dentist’s or orthodontist’s office.

How Does Looshie Work?

In theory, Looshie clear teeth aligners work to straighten teeth by applying steady and gradual pressure on the teeth, to eventually shift them into an aligned position. The BPA-free silicone tray is designed to support a variety of arch forms, for essentially universal use. It’s a one-size-fits-all option for braces. And you only have to wear them for six to eight hours a day.

Treatment Options

There are three treatment options with Looshie, which we will now review:

Soft: Soft treatment is indicated for more superficial alignment corrections. The function, according to Looshie’s website, is ‘adaptive orthotics and primary orthotics.’ The soft treatment is for the first ‘month or so.’ The strength level of soft aligners is 40%. Soft treatment is recommended for people with types of teeth alignment problems like overbites, underbites, crossbites, gaps between teeth, or generally crooked teeth. Since the strength level is lower, only slight pressure is put on teeth to shift their position.

looshie smile hard treatment

Hard: Hard treatment corrects tooth root alignments. The function is to ‘further adapt the orthotics, enhance the effect of correction.’ Hard treatment takes place after soft treatment, for two to three months, and then for three more months for the ‘consolidation and shaping stage.’ The strength level of the hard treatment is 60%. This treatment is recommended for people who wore braces in the past and have almost perfectly straight teeth. More pressure is put on your teeth to shift them and keep them in the right position.

Both: Looshie recommends using both soft and hard treatment, especially for people who have always had problems with teeth alignment. They also note that if you aren’t sure which treatment plan to follow, with such low prices, you don’t lose anything by purchasing the entire set.

Looshie Wear Instructions

There are four steps to wearing Looshie aligners:

  • Step 1: Brush your teeth before putting the aligners in. Once your teeth are clean, place the aligners in your mouth with the middle tip facing up.
  • Step 2: Slowly close your mouth. You will feel a slight pressure as the aligner works to straighten your teeth.
  • Step 3: Wear your aligner between six and eight hours every day. Looshie recommends wearing them at night, as this can also keep you from grinding your teeth.
  • Step 4: Remove the aligner from your mouth, soak it in water for five minutes, and store it.

Keep in mind that whenever you clean retainers made from plastic, make sure never to use hot water as this can warp the plastic.

Can I Eat With Looshie?

Looshie claims that you can eat and drink while wearing your aligners, but that afterward, you should rinse them with cool water and brush and floss your teeth so that they don't stain. Although since you only have to wear them for six to eight hours a day, you can wear them at night and not worry about eating and drinking.

Looshie Smile Cost

The amount you pay for Looshie aligners will depend on which treatment plan you choose. The soft plan and the hard plan separately only cost $24.95, and a bundle with the two of them costs just $39.95. There's free shipping for orders over $30 and a 30-day money-back guarantee.

Looshie Smile Reviews: What Customers Think About it?

So what are customers saying about Looshie? Is it too good to be true? Unfortunately, there isn’t an overwhelming amount of reviews online, but let’s take a look at some from Trustpilot. We aren’t going to go over the reviews on the Looshie website for obvious reasons.

Looshie Review: Our Opinion

What do we recommend? Honestly, do yourself a favor and invest a little bit more money in something as important as your oral health.

There are many at-home teeth straightening options available, most of which are much more affordable than traditional braces. Some even offer monthly payment plans to make them even more accessible.

If you like the idea that Looshie aligners only need to be worn at night, there are other aligners on the market that offer a nighttime aligners option.

Is Looshie Smile Safe?

We found no evidence that Looshie Smile is safe. On their website, they say nothing about working with certified dentists or orthodontists to plan treatment or develop the aligners themselves.

There are no periodic check-ins with a dental professional to monitor progress, and it’s a bit unnerving that there are so few reviews online.

Teeth straightening is a serious business. If it goes wrong, you can seriously mess up your mouth. Your teeth could become loose, and your bite could even become more misaligned, both of which can cause problems with eating, talking, and smiling down the road.

Our final take?

Please consider other options when it comes to straightening your teeth. The Looshie promise is too good to be true and there are brands that have already proven their quality like byte aligners, Candid Co or any of the brands listed in our review of the top 6 home teeth aligners. So, go to your dentist to have a professional and reliable opinion about it or consider choosing safe teeth aligners brands.

Are you saying they are unsafe to use. I have ordered, if I don’t open will I be able to return them. I don’t expect them to straighten my teeth to be fair but I am looking for a shield I can wear during the night as I clench my teeth and already have an overbite.

      Hi, Emma!

In our opinion, Looshie is not a good brand. If you are looking for affordable TMJ nightguard, we recommend you to check this list: https://theteethblog.com/tmj-mouth-guards/

no more dangerous than ANY device, including $$$$ dental office endodontic braces .they can cause root absorption and malalignments, and can lead to tmj , etc. no dentist will take responsibility if that happens, and then you’ll be forced to hire a lawyer for another $10,000 to sue them and you’ll lose because chances are the dentist had success with other people, and they’ll use that to say that you fall into the small category of risk patients. so would you rather spend $24 or $20,000 for the same amount of risk.
of course the person writing this article it’s quite affluent quite privileged and has been put through the system that is designed to put fear the poor and disenfranchised .. and force them to be afraid or to come up with money they don’t have.

      Hi there!

We appreciate your interest in teeth alignment solutions, but we would strongly discourage you from purchasing Looshies aligners. It’s crucial to prioritize your dental health and safety. We recommend you consult with your dentist or orthodontist before making any decisions. They can provide a personalized assessment and guide you toward the best treatment option for your specific needs.

You might also want to consider reputable brands like Byte, Invisalign, or 2Usmiles. These companies have established themselves in the orthodontic industry, and their products are known for their effectiveness and reliability. Ultimately, your dental professional will be your best source of advice on which aligner system is right for you. Your smile is worth the investment in a trusted and proven solution!

      Hope this helps,
